Who We Are

Youth Work Central is an on-line resource tool of Health Resources in Action’s BEST Initiative (which is housed in the Training and Capacity Building Department).  Health Resources in Action is a nonprofit organization based in Boston, Massachusetts dedicated to promoting public health, advancing medical research, and creating healthier, more vibrant communities.

HRiA’s BEST Initiative is northern New England’s only region-wide professional development and credentialing system for youth workers and their supervisors.  The BEST Initiative is widely recognized for its youth development approach, which recognizes and builds on young people's assets and strengths.  Composed of a diverse staff, BEST has expertise in a variety of topics including but not limited to:
